Special activities are planned for different holidays and seasons of the church year.

The Olivet Youth serve a Valentine Dinner to members and friends for Valentine's Day.  It is a fundraiser that helps to support special youth activities.  Reservations are required for this candlelight affair.

The men of Olivet Church have sponsored the Community Fish Fry in February since W.W. II.  Men in the community who were not eligible for military service started the dinner for the wives and sweethearts of military men who were not at home to celebrate Valentine's Day.  The men set tables, make hushpuppies, fry fish and clean up the mess.  Each woman is asked to bring a salad.  Donations are received to cover expenses.  This event is open to all in the community.

The Annual Easter Egg Hunt is held at the church on Saturday before Easter.  The Easter Bunny attends the hunt after hiding eggs for children through fourth grade.

Each Easter, Olivet begins the day with an Early Easter Service (not a Sunrise Service) followed by an Easter Breakfast.  Candidates form the Pastor's Class are often baptized at the early service.  Then there is the Traditional Easter Service.

The Annual River Camp Out (Float Trip) is held in July on one of the spring-fed rivers in South Missouri.  All ages, from babies to 80+ years, participate. Work details are divided so no one person or group is left with the bulk of responsibility. Campers prepare meals and eat together as a group from Friday night through Sunday noon.  Campers float the river, swim, visit, sleep, hike or just relax for the three days.  On Sunday morning, they worship together under the trees by the river.  In the past, some members of the Pastor's Class have chosen to be baptized in the river.

Some members have extra camping gear which they are willing to share with folks who don't have equipment.

August brings Sunday School Rally Day and the Back to School Ice Cream Social.  The Education Committee plans for a welcome and introduction of children to new teacher.  The Finance Committee arranges for the Ice Cream Social which usually includes a swimming party.

The Wiener Roast/Hay Ride is held in October at the Church and is usually the kick-off of fall.  The Membership Committee sponsors this activity for members and friends of all ages.  We roast hot dogs and marshmallows on the open fire, carve pumpkins, sing around the campfire and take hayrides around the neighborhood.
