"Making the Grace of God Real for People"

Olivet Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) was founded in 1874 in the community of Harg, four miles east of Columbia. The congregation presently numbers over 400 participating members.  The congregation is fairly diverse, so we attempt to offer a wide variety of programs and activities. You are welcome to participate in as many or as few as you are comfortable with.  Regular worshipers are assigned to a Mission Family. Each Mission Family will meet several times a year and is responsible for fellowship and care giving among its members, as well as hospitality and worship on a rotating schedule.  Each Mission Family will share responsibilities of monthly duties at various times during the year.  The present church building at Rt. WW and Olivet Rd. was occupied in 1994. Since then, both membership and attendance have doubled.

8:30 a.m.—Informal Early Worship Service (June-Sept.–outside worship)

9:30 a.m.—Sunday School for all ages

11:00 a.m.—Traditional Morning Worship Service/Children's Worship

Children's Worship (for children K-3rd grade) begins after the Anthem during the Traditional worship. The children will leave the Sanctuary and go to a classroom down the west hallway.

The nursery, found down the west hallway, is for children birth through age five.  The nursery is open during both services .

Both the 8:30 & 11:00 a.m. Sunday services include observance of Holy Communion.

Communion at Olivet is open to anyone who confesses that Jesus is the Christ, the son of the Living God.
